Candied Pecans

Serves: 2 cups

Hands On Time: 40 minutes

Total Time: 40 minutes

Ingredients

2 cups raw pecan halves

1/2 cup powdered sugar

2 tablespoons granulated sugar

1 teaspoon kosher salt

Instructions

Heat the oven to 350 degrees. Spray a parchment-lined baking sheet with nonstick oil spray.

Bring a medium saucepan of water to a boil. Add the pecans and boil for 5 minutes.

Meanwhile, in a large bowl, stir together the powdered sugar, granulated sugar and salt.

Thoroughly drain the pecans and add to the sugar mixture. Toss to coat with sugar, then transfer to the prepared baking sheet, shaking off any excess sugar. Bake, stirring occasionally, until the nuts have browned, 15 to 20 minutes. Let cool completely before storing in an airtight container.

About the recipe

Candied pecans can add wonderful texture and sweetness to desserts, salads and even savory soups. Once the nuts have cooled, they can be stored in an airtight container for up to two weeks.
