Basil Buttermilk Dressing

1 cup buttermilk

1/2 cup sour cream

1/2 cup mayonnaise

10 large basil leaves

1/4 cup fresh Italian parsley leaves, chopped

5 scallions, chopped

1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

1 clove garlic, chopped

1 teaspoon kosher salt, plus more to taste

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, plus more to taste

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper


In a blender or food processor, combine all of the ingredients. Blend until smooth.

Season to taste with additional salt and pepper. Serve.

About the recipe

Our buttermilk dressing is a close facsimile for ranch dressing, but brightened up by the addition of fresh herbs. Try it with grilled chicken and fish or as a dipping sauce for Buffalo wings.
