Classic Old Fashioned Cocktail: There's a reason this spirit-forward sipper endures

One of the oldest cocktails in the history of cocktails, this is a reliable sipper that's simple to make as long as you have the ingredients on hand. This is a spirit-forward recipe that lets the bourbon do the talking, so make sure to buy something you'd like to taste. Rye works perfectly in this recipe as well.

Ingredients
2 ounces bourbon
1/2 ounce simple syrup
2 dashes Angostura bitters
1 large ice cube
Orange slice or two, for garnish
Maraschino cherry, for garnish
Instructions
In a rocks glass, combine the bourbon, simple syrup and bitters. Add the ice cube and use a bar spoon to stir until the drink is well chilled, about 30 seconds. Garnish with the orange and cherry. Serve.
