Cajun Crackers

Serves: 40

Hands On Time: 5 minutes

Total Time: 2 hours and 0 minutes

Ingredients

2 (1-ounce) packets dry ranch dressing mix

1 1/2 teaspoons red pepper flakes

1 1/4 teaspoons cayenne pepper

2 cups canola oil

1 pound unsalted saltine crackers.

Instructions

In a 2-gallon resealable bag, mix together the dressing mix, red pepper flakes and cayenne. Add the oil and mix thoroughly. Add the crackers, seal the bag and shake until the crackers are evenly coated.

Let the crackers sit in the bag, flipping once every 20 to 30 minutes, until the liquid is entirely absorbed by the crackers, about 2 hours. If desired, spread the crackers onto paper towels to absorb any extra oil before serving. Store in an airtight container.
