Amazon’s best-selling grits are from South Carolina

Every Southerner knows how essential grits are to Southern cuisine. Whether they’re topped with shrimp, mixed with cheese, sugared or salted, we love grits in the morning, noon and night. So it’s no surprise that the best-selling grits on Amazon come from a Southern family business.

Palmetto Farms has been producing grits since 1934. Situated in Galivants Ferry, South Carolina, the fourth-generation, family-run business has fans across the country who are leaving rave Amazon reviews on this classic Southern food. And while Palmetto Farms offers a variety of grits, including yellow stone-ground and jalapeno cheese, their white stone-ground grits are the top seller in the “grits” category on Amazon.

According to Southern Living, Palmetto Farm’s secret is all in the production. The “non-GMO corn is stone-ground the old-fashioned way.”

If you want to use them while making one of our favorite grits recipes, we suggest you head over to Amazon soon. This time of year is their busy season, and some of the grits are already out of stock.

“We’re busy all the time, but it goes into insane mode by the end of October through Christmas,” third-generation owner David Dorman said in the story. “A lot of people buy them not just to eat them, but to give them as presents.”
