Why we love it icon

There's nothing better than finding a new piece of cookware that's functional, easy to use and just gosh darn pretty.

Nest Homeware is a small company based in Providence, Rhode Island, specializing in cast iron cookware. Nest is lead and managed by its founder and principal designer, Matt Cavallaro. Cavallaro founded Nest in 2013 with a vision to make beautiful, highly functional, heirloom products. Cavallaro's background in industrial design, art and the classic manufacturing process helps inform his uniquely beauitful and functional cookware.

All of the cast iron cookware from Nest — its Dutch oven, skillets and lids — are some of the lightest and well-balanced on the market. In addition, the skillet's long handle, inspired by a branch of a cherry tree, helps to distribute the weight of the skillet more evenly than many cast iron skillets you'd find at a hardware store. The handles also stay cooler longer and are ergonomically designed for comfort and ease.

Though starting in the kitchen, Cavallaro has ambitions to move into well-designed products for the rest of the home, such as furniture and lighting, in the coming year.
