
Slow Cooker Hot Buttered Rum

Ingredients
4 cups water
1 cup packed dark brown sugar
8 tablespoons (1 stick) unsalted butter
1 teaspoon kosher salt
3 cinnamon sticks
1 whole nutmeg
5 allspice berries
5 whole cloves
1 vanilla bean, split lengthwise
1 cup dark or amber rum
Instructions
In the bowl of a slow cooker, combine all of the ingredients except for the rum. Cover with the lid and cook on low heat until sugar dissolves and mixture is fragrant, 4 hours. Turn off the heat, stir in the rum, and ladle into mugs or glasses. Serve.
