Boulevardier Cocktail

Ice cubes
1 ounce high-quality sweet vermouth, such as Dolin
1 ounce Campari
1 ounce rye or bourbon whiskey
Orange peel


In a mixing glass filled with ice, combine the vermouth, Campari and whiskey. Stir until well-chilled, about 30 seconds. Strain into a chilled coupe glass (see note). Twist the orange peel over the drink and then rub the peel around the rim of the glass. Discard the peel and serve.
