Chocolate Gravy

1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup cocoa powder
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups whole milk
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon kosher salt
Warm biscuits, for serving


In a medium saucepan, whisk together the sugar, cocoa powder and flour. Whisk in the milk until smooth.

Place the saucepan over medium heat and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens, 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from the heat and whisk in the butter, vanilla and salt until smooth. Serve hot over the warm biscuits.
