Sometimes the food we find on Instagram is almost too pretty to eat. If you don’t have enough mouth-watering pictures of Southern food coming up in your Instagram feed, we’ve got you covered. 

In honor of National Pastry Day, we found some of the best pastry chefs in the South to follow on Instagram. These Southern pastry chefs come from different backgrounds and their Instagram accounts offer a peek into their lives both in and out of the kitchen. Following these pastry chefs will fill your feed with sweet and sophisticated desserts that will leave you drooling.

Dwayne Ingraham

Dwayne Ingraham, Sinfully Southern in Oxford, Mississippi

Not only has pastry chef Dwayne Ingraham been crowned Sweetest Chef in the South, he’s also conquered Food Networks’ “Best Baker in America,” “Cutthroat Kitchen” and “Spring Baking Championship.” And he loves showing of his colorful and creative pastry creations on Instagram. Along with pictures of perfectly layered cakes and strawberry shortcakes, Ingraham also shows off the behind-the-scenes action of the television shows he’s competing on.

 Jordan Pilarski

Jordan Pilarski, The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island in Jacksonville, Florida

When Jordan Pilarski isn’t creating towering wedding cakes and decadent gingerbread houses at the Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island, he’s winning Food Network’s “Spring Baking Championship” and judging Food Network’s “Christmas Cookie Challenge.” Although he’s only in his early twenties, Pilarski has shown his talent and is making a name for himself in the culinary world. His Instagram is filled with pictures from “Christmas Cookie Challenge” and life in and out of the kitchen in South Carolina.

Maggie Huff, FT33 in Dallas, Texas

Pastry chef Maggie Huff is currently in charge of creating and developing the dessert menus at Dallas’ FT33 and Filament. Crafting beautiful desserts from some of the best locally-sourced ingredients, Huff isn’t afraid to step outside of the box when it comes to her creations. “Dessert shouldn’t be an afterthought, but a continuation of what you’ve had prior so that there is some cohesiveness to the entire dining experience,” Huff said. “That’s important, and to accomplish that, the flavors all should be balanced. Nothing overly sweet or overly done.”  And that is what you will find on her Instagram.
