Elizabeth Heiskell
Not sure what to bring to a holiday party? This Southern author has an answer
In her new cookbook, entertaining guru Elizabeth Heiskell gives you the solution to the toughest question during the holiday season — What can I bring? This Southerner has you covered with simple recipes that will be a huge hit at Thanksgiving or even the office potluck.
The Mississippi native’s new cookbook “What Can I Bring? Southern Food for Any Occasion Life Serves Up” (Oxmoor House, $30), has over 100 recipes so you’ll be ready for every upcoming celebration.
The recipes in “What Can I Bring?” were gathered from friends, family and her own creations in the kitchen. For the holidays, Heiskell recommends a classic vegetable soup or a winter panzanella salad. Her Bacon Bites are also a big hit at cocktail parties.
Heiskell, who writes for Southern Living and is a contributor on NBC’s “Today” show, will be stopping in Atlanta on Thursday and Friday as a part of a multi-city book tour. Need a suggestion on what you should bring to your holiday party? Stop by and ask her what she would recommend as the perfect party dish.
