A moveable feast: The top 10 Southern events for foodies in September

As summer officially ends and temperatures cool down, the food scene in the South actually continues to heat up with a wide assortment of gatherings for foodies and beverage fans in September. We looked at a buffet of events around the South and found the best, arranging them according to their dates to help you plan your road trip; all that's left is for you to get out there and indulge in a new season of Southern culinary arts.

North Carolina Apple Festival
Sept 1-4; Hendersonville, N.C.
Freshly picked North Carolina apples will be yours for the tasting in this four-day family-friendly event. 15 local apple growers will have bushels of apples along with fried apple pies, cakes, butter and cider available for purchase in the Street Fair. There’ll also be several live bands, recipe competitions, children’s activities and a car show.
